Ananda; 阿難; Tibetan: ཀུན་དགའ་བོ (kungawo); Wylie: kun dga’ bo; Sanskrit: Ānanda;
Ananda was the Gautama Buddha’s cousin who became his primary attendant and one of his ten principal disciples. Ananda was famous for his memory. It is believed that the words, “Thus have I heard”, which began many of Buddha’s discourses were the words of Ananda’s that indicated his first hand experience of Buddha’s teaching.
阿難是佛陀的表弟、侍者和十大弟子之一，被譽為多聞第一，經典中的「如是我聞……」，是阿難所記憶背誦的。
This is an beta (testing) version of our Chinese / English / Sanskrit / Tibetan Buddhism popup dictionary system. We are still in the process of fine tuning the structure and layout of the system and resolving some minor issues.
