Vaishravana, Heavenly King of the North; 多聞天王, 財寶天王, 毗沙門天王 (南多色, 南色); Tibetan: རྣམ་ཐོས་སྲས (Namthoe Se), རྣམ་སྲས (nam se); Wylie: rnam thos sras, rnam sras; Sanskrit: Vaisravana;

Vaishravana (hears everything) is the Yellow Heavenly King of the North, wearing golden armour and holding an umbrella. He is chief of the Four Heavenly Kings, protecting Vinaya teachings. With jewel mongoose in his left hand, he confers spiritual and material wealth on Dharma practitioners. He is leader of Yaksas.

多聞天王是佛教護法神，「四大天王」之首，爲夜叉王，精通佛法，以福德聞於四方。住須彌山黃金埵，身黃綠色，左手臥銀鼠，右持寶傘，穿甲冑，『風調雨順』中的『雨』，負責守護北俱盧洲。

This is an beta (testing) version of our Chinese / English / Sanskrit / Tibetan Buddhism popup dictionary system.
