ཀརྨ་པ

Gyalwang Karmapa; 大寶法王 (噶瑪巴);  Tibetan: ཀརྨ་པ (karmapa); Wylie: karma pa;

Gyalwang Karmapa, holder of the black crown, is the spiritual leader of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism.

The second Karmapa was the first recognized tulku (reincarnated lama) in Tibetan Buddhism. There are are currently two incarnations for the Seventeenth Karmapa:

  • Ogyen Trinley Dorje, ཨོ་རྒྱན་འཕྲིན་ལས་རྡོ་རྗེ། (1985-) is recognized by Tai Situ Rinpoche, Chinese government and Dalai Lama.
  • Trinley Thaye Dorje, ཕྲིན་ལས་མཐའ་ཡས་རྡོ་རྗེ། (1983-) was recognized by Fourteenth Sharmarpa.

噶瑪巴 (大寶法王及黑寶冠持有者) 是噶瑪噶舉派最高精神領袖，為金剛總持的化身，第十七世噶玛巴有兩位轉世者的爭議:

  • 第十二世大司徒仁波切，中國政府和達賴喇嘛共同認可的伍金赤列多吉(1985-)
  • 第十四世夏瑪巴認定的赤列塔耶多吉(1983-)。
