Deer Park, Sarnath, (10 km northeast of Varanasi, formally Isipathana, Uttar Pradesh, India) was where Gautama Buddha gave his first teaching (the first turning of the wheel of the Dharma). It is one of the Eight Holy places in the life of the Buddha.
