Gosok Rinzin Phodang Phuntsok Choeling monastery is situated near the sacred hill of Lang Ri Lung Ten (Nagarjun hill) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The monastery was build by Gosok Rinpoche in 1996.
The main purpose of establishing this monastery is to preserve the teaching of Buddha to maintain and protect monastic law.
We have 5 Geshes as Dharma teachers and 4 layman teachers who teach Tibetan and English.
All the young monks in the monastery learn Tibetan language, Tibetan Calligraphy, Tibetan Grammar, English and Nepali language.
For Dharma study, we use the Buddhist text from Maha Pandita Khedrub Gendun Tenpa Dargyal with compliment Dharma text from Geshe Drakpa Shedrup.
The students learn Sakyamuni Buddha’s biography, history of Buddhism, memorize prayers and how to conduct a prayer with all the preparations.
They start to learn the preliminaries of Buddhist debate from Dudra (Reasoning of collected topics that are essential teachings on logic, epistemology, and psychology, derived from the works of the 7th-century Indian Buddhist scholar Dharmakirti) and Lo Tag (valid cognition/the examination of mind).
They practice the Tantra of Yamantaka, other Deity and Dharma Protector Sadhana texts. They also learn to draw Thangka and Yidam Mandala.
On the 10th Tibetan month, we conduct the extended Medicine Buddha Sutra recitation. During Saka Dawa (4th Tibetan month) we conduct four mandala Puja with one hundred thousand Tara mantra recitation. Uninterrupted extensive Dharma practices pacify all the impurity and accumulate all the good deeds.
There are currently more than 180 young monks studying in the monastery. They begin to learn to chant from the age of three to 13.
The most promising ones are sent to one of the three great monasteries to begin their studies of the five major Buddhist treatises. They must then study for another decade, or even several decades, and pass many examinations and debates before qualifying as a “Geshe” (the equivalent of a doctorate) and becoming eligible to preach and transmit the Dharma.

建立此寺院的主要目的是為了保存佛陀的教法，維護和保護寺院法規。

學生研習釋迦牟尼佛的生平、佛教史，並背誦各類祈禱文。同時，也學習如何進行完整而如法的祈禱，包括一切必要的前行準備。
此外，僧眾學習佛教辯論的初階內容，從集論 (Dudra)到初級正量學 (Lotag)。
修行方面，僧眾修持大威德金剛密續，以及其他護法本尊的修法儀軌。同時，也學習繪製唐卡與本尊曼荼羅。
藏曆十月，寺院舉行藥師佛經誦持法會。於藏曆四月的薩嘎達瓦期間，則舉行四曼荼羅供養法會，並累積誦念十萬遍度母心咒。
這些不間斷而廣大的佛法修持，能夠平息一切染污，並圓滿積聚所有善業。
目前有超過 180 位年輕小喇嘛在此學習修行，最小的3歲開始學習誦經到13歲。
最優秀的小喇嘛 將被選擇送往三大寺開始學習佛教經典五大論。他們要再學習十幾年有的甚至幾十年，經過數次辨經考試，考取“格西”（相當我們的博士），才有資格講經、傳法。

The monastery is far from Nepal city center. The young monks live a simple life. If you were to ask them what their wish is, it would be — “For the benefit of all beings, may I become a Buddha!”
These young monks are the future heirs of the Dharma! Our master Gosok Rinpoche cares for them deeply, constantly guiding them, down to the very pronunciation of each sentence of scripture.
To make offerings to the young lamas is to make offerings to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha—to the Buddhas of the future! It is a meritorious deed that will not wane or perish in the cycle of rebirth, persisting through countless lifetimes. Offering to them is an opportunity for people to cultivate merit and accumulate good karma. In the future, those among them who attain enlightenment will be able to guide thousands or even tens of thousands of people! Their merit is inseparable from the virtuous cause of the present offering. The giver is always more blessed than the receiver. Only with great virtue can one bear a great burden; only by sowing merit can one reap merit. In the cycle of rebirth, cause and effect follow one another without fail!
