Santaraksita; 寂護 (希瓦措, 禪怛羅乞答); Tibetan: ཞི་བ་འཚོ (shyiwa tsho); Wylie: zhi ba ‘tsho;  Sanskrit: Santaraksita / Shantarakshita, / Santarakshita;

Santaraksita (725–788) is a great Indian pandita, an abbot of Nalanda, one of the Seventeen Nalanda Masters. He was invited to Tibet by King Trisong Detsen. He was one of seven first Tibetan monks and founded Samye monastery. His main writings included:

寂護大師 (725–788) 著名印度佛教學者, 師從中觀派清辨大師，那爛陀十七班智達之一 。

受藏王赤松德贊的邀請至藏地傳法，建立桑耶寺, 後邀精通密法的蓮華生大師入藏，降伏了當地的神靈與苯教修行者。與蓮花生、赤松德贊，合稱師君三尊。著有《中觀莊嚴論》、《二諦分別釋》。

This is an beta (testing) version of our Chinese / English / Sanskrit / Tibetan Buddhism popup dictionary system. We are still in the process of fine tuning the structure and layout of the system and resolving some minor issues.
